The Pfizer Clinical Research Unit in New Haven is conducting a clinical trial of a study drug for atopic dermatitis (AD; eczema) and asthma. This part of the study will look at the effects of single doses of the study drug when given to healthy adults.

This study is looking at a potential treatment for AD and asthma, which are both inflammatory conditions - diseases in which excess or ongoing inflammation is a primary factor.

AD is one of the most common chronic inflammatory skin conditions. It causes a rash, itching, and can negatively affect patients’ emotional well-being. Asthma is a long-term respiratory condition caused by inflammation in the lungs and airways. This leads to symptoms such as shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, coughing, and wheezing.

Patients with these conditions often still face symptoms despite current treatments and may benefit from other medication options.
