The Pfizer Clinical Research Unit in New Haven is seeking healthy volunteers for a COVID-19 clinical trial that will compare the metabolism, effects, and taste of different oral forms of the study drug.
COVID-19 is the illness resulting from the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Millions of people worldwide have been impacted by this illness, and much is still unknown. Despite efforts to vaccinate against the virus, treatments are still needed for those who become ill to aid in their recovery.

Who may participate
Clinical trials are key to developing potential life-changing treatments for people across the globe. But they can't happen without participants.
This study is seeking healthy adult volunteers, meaning that the participants will not have the condition being studied and are in overall good health. In addition to the criteria listed, participants must meet the following requirements:
- Willing to take a study drug
- Willing and able to come to our facility in New Haven, CT*
- Able to comply with all study procedures
*participants may be eligible to receive a bonus for travel, ask our staff for details

Each clinical study has its own guidelines for who can participate, called eligibility criteria. However, only the research study staff can determine if you qualify to enroll in the study.
What to expect
If this study may be a fit for you, you’ll be invited to a screening visit at our facility in New Haven, CT. If you qualify for the study, there may be a period of up to 28 days before dosing.
If you choose to participate, you will stay at our facility for 16 consecutive overnights. Starting the morning after admission, you will receive a single oral dose of the study drug every 4 days. With the study drug, you will also receive an oral dose of a second medication used to boost the effects of the study drug (up to 4 total doses). All doses will be given as tablets to swallow.
Throughout the study, staff will closely monitor your health status and collect data, such as the levels of the study drug in your blood.
